FILE INFO | Caption | When Hiranyakashipu left his kingdom and went to the mountains to perform austerities, the demigods, headed by King Indra, attacked the demons. The demons were being killed one after another and they began to flee and scattered in different directions. Indra then arrested Hiranyakashipu's Queen, Kayadu, who was at that time pregnant. Thinking that she carried a great demon in her womb, the demigods planned to kill the child as soon as it was born. As she was being led away, crying in fear, the great sage Narada saw her and stopped King Indra. Narada said that the chaste Kayadu was sinless and the child in her womb was actually a great devotee. He convinced Indra to release her and thus Narada Muni took Kayadu to his ashram and reassured her that she would be protected there until the return of her husband. During her stay there, Narada Muni instructed her and the unborn child Prahlad. He spoke about transcendental knowledge and devotional service and his words were completely free from material contamination. | Headline | Narada Muni Instructs Prahlad in his Mother's Womb | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
