FILE INFO | Caption | When Kalayavana saw the Lord he thought "This person must indeed be Vasudeva (Krishna), since he possesses the characteristics Narada mentioned." Kalayavana resolved to fight Him without weapons. The Lord simply ran away, leading Kalayavana to a far away mountain cave. Kalayavana followed Him into the cave and saw there a man lying asleep. Thinking him to be Lord Krishna, Kalayavana kicked the man with all his strength. This man was actually Muchukunda, who had fought for a long time on behalf of the demigods and had been given the benediction that he could sleep undisturbed, and whoever awakened him would suddenly be burnt to ashes. When Muchukunda was kicked, he looked all about and his eyes fell on Kalayavana. Kalayavana's body burst into flames and was burnt to ashes in a moment. -Excerpt from Srimad Bhagavatam 10.5.1-6 | Headline | Kalayavana is Killed by Muchukunda | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
