FILE INFO
CaptionLord Krishna drove the chariot between the two armies on the battlefield, at Arjuna's request. The Lord then pointed out all the important men and family members on the opposing side, saying, "Here is Bhisma (Arjuna's grandfather), here is Drona (Arjuna's teacher of weaponry and martial arts)." Seeing his grandfathers, teachers, uncles, brothers, sons, friends, his father-in-law and many well-wishers, Arjuna was astonished. His whole body began to quiver. He said to Lord Krishna: "I do not see how any good can come from killing my own kinsmen in this battle, nor can I, my dear Krishna, desire any subsequent victory, kingdom, or happiness. O Govinda, of what avail to us are kingdoms, happiness or even life itself when all those for whom we may desire them are now arrayed in this battlefield?" Expressing his reluctance to engage in battle, he turned to Krishna for guidance, and Lord Krishna spoke to him the beautiful song of the Bhagavad-Gita.
